Biography:
Matt Gabel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political
Science and Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the
University of Kentucky. His research focuses primarily on issues of
international political economy and comparative politics in the advanced
industrialized world. He is particularly interested in politics in the
European Union, where intergovernmental political questions loom large.
Research areas include: international economics and mass political behavior;
the politics of decision-making in the European Court of Justice; legislative
voting behavior; and the effects of political institutions on economic
performance. He also studies group decision-making in medical settings
and its consequences for health care.
